Ask
Ask is the first page you see. Its one field, “What would you like to remember?”, both searches and answers. Press / from anywhere in the app to jump to it.
Searching
Section titled “Searching”As you type, matching passages appear below the field, with the words that matched highlighted, and each one’s title, date and source. Search looks for your words and for their meaning at once, so “when did we move house” also finds a thread that says “the removal van comes on Friday”.
Asking
Section titled “Asking”Press Enter, or Ask, to get an answer. It’s written above the passages, as a short article with numbered notes such as [1] and [2]. Each note is a passage from your archive; choose one to open the thread or note at that point.
Answers come only from your own archive. When it doesn’t hold the answer, the answer says so rather than guessing. You can ask a follow-up, and the answer takes your last few questions into account.
Filters
Section titled “Filters”Open Filters to narrow searches and answers by:
- Source: email, notes or quick notes;
- Dates: from and to;
- Person: someone’s name or address.
When your archive is empty
Section titled “When your archive is empty”Ask shows Connect an email account until there’s something to search. See Getting your things in.
