Getting your things in

There are four ways to add to your archive. You can use any of them together.

Use this for email. The archive reads your mailbox itself, over IMAP with an app password, and checks for new mail every 15 minutes. Most providers work; a few, including Outlook, don’t yet. See Email accounts.

Use this for folders on your computer. A small program you install with one line. You choose folders on a page in your browser, and it keeps them in your archive as you change them. See Archivist Sync.

Use this for an Obsidian vault. It syncs your notes in the background, on desktop and mobile. See The Obsidian plugin.

Use this for a folder you want in once, such as old tax returns. Upload it in Settings → Libraries; upload it again later to update it. See Uploading files.

Before you start, read What’s worth keeping. Everything you add is searched and curated, so clutter makes your results worse.
